Synopsis: “The War in Plymouth: Destruction and a New Beginning” was a Heritage Lottery Funded three-year oral history project run by The Word Machine CIC. The project attempted to capture first hand accounts of the hugely damaging blitz on Plymouth, in which over 4000 properties were destroyed, and also memories of the rebuild process directed by the Abercrombie Plan.
Brief: We worked with the client to produce a series of high quality portraits of contributors, which were used within the book. [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Impact:” tab_id=”1529666043347-201c5bf3-2f98″][vc_column_text]Our Approach: We visited contributors at their homes, both to give a sense of character and also to create a comfortable environment for the shoot. We also chose to work on medium format film, giving a clean traditional aesthetic to the carefully lit portraits.
Impact: The book was printed and launched in November 2015.
