Red Velvet Cinema is a community initiative in Plymouth combating loneliness among older people through bi-weekly gatherings, offering social connection and film screenings. Attendees find fellowship and a sense of belonging, emphasising the social impact beyond traditional cinema experiences.
Fotonow were commissioned by Red Velvet Cinema to create a set of portraits of their patrons and to produce prints of this work. We then installed the prints as an exhibition at a celebration event for the group in January 2024 at Devonport Guildhall in Plymouth.
